USDT Deposit Checklist: What to Settle Before You Press Send
A USDT deposit goes wrong in the minute before the send, not after it. After the send there is only a hash and a wait. This checklist is about that minute: six things to settle, in the order that makes each of them cheap.
It is not a comparison of networks and it recommends none. It assumes you have already decided where the money is going and want it to arrive.
Start from the cashier, not from the wallet
Open the deposit screen first, pick USDT there, and pick the network there. The address it then shows is an address on that network and no other. If you open the wallet first and choose a network because it is the one the wallet suggests, you have made the decision in the place that knows nothing about the cashier.
Match the chain, not the label
One chain is written several ways. Stake calls it BSC (BEP20), Duelbits Binance Smart Chain, Cloudbet BNB Smart Chain. Tron is TRX - Tron (TRC20) at one cashier, TRON at another, Tron at a third. Ethereum is ERC20, Ethereum [ERC-20] or Ethereum Mainnet. Compare the chain underneath the words, and when a word is unfamiliar, ask before you guess.
Check the shape of the address
A Tron address starts with a T. Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain share one format, a 0x followed by forty hexadecimal characters, which is exactly why a wrong choice between them raises no alarm. Solana addresses are base58 strings with no prefix. The Open Network addresses begin EQ or UQ. A shape that does not match the network you chose is the one mistake a wallet will often catch for you; a shape that matches two networks is the one it cannot.
Make the first send clear the minimum
A test transfer is a good habit and a bad one when it falls under the cashier’s floor, because then the test is itself a deposit that will not be credited. Rollbit says so in capitals, Cloudbet says any amount below the minimum will not be credited. Read the minimum on the screen for the network you chose and send at least that.
Keep the network’s fee token on hand
USDT does not pay its own way. Ethereum transfers are paid in ETH, BNB Smart Chain in BNB, Tron in TRX, Solana in SOL. A wallet holding only USDT will refuse to build the transfer or ask you to top up first. Settle that before you start, not in the middle of the send.
Write down what you sent
Before you leave the wallet screen, copy the transaction hash, the network, the receiving address and the amount into a note. If anything goes wrong, those four items are the whole of a support request, and the wallet screen that showed them will be gone.

Rollbit
A one-sentence warning about the network, and a five-dollar floor below which support cannot recover a deposit.

Quick answers
| Is a small test transfer always a good idea? | Only if it clears the cashier’s minimum for that network. Below it, the test is a lost deposit. |
